ProTeam Tactical Performance, already a partner to multiple Indiana fire departments and police agencies, is expanding its reach to other states by opening its sixth location at 601 Presidents Blvd. in Louisville, Ky.
The company was co-founded and is led by former Indianapolis Colts quarterback Jim Sorgi and former St. Louis Cardinals right fielder Joey Vandever. Since retiring from professional sports, the duo has been dedicated to helping first responders enhance their physical and mental well-being for optimal performance in the line of duty and for maximum enjoyment years after they retire.
The new facility provides athletic-inspired injury rehab solutions and performance services to City of Louisville first responders and is set to open this summer.
“As professional athletes, we had access to some of the best resources available throughout our careers when it came to recovering from injuries to get back on the field. Why shouldn’t our first responders receive that same level of care?” Sorgi said. “Our mission at ProTeam Tactical Performance is to put similar resources, approaches, and solutions to work for our first responders and help them get back to work in a quick, safe and efficient manner — and hopefully even prevent injuries before they happen.”
The addition of a ProTeam facility for the City of Louisville represents an investment into the community and lives of Louisville first responders and showcases the dedication Sorgi and Vandever have for enhancing the lives of as many first responders as possible.
“LMPD looks forward to partnering with ProTeam Tactical Performance to enhance the services offered at our LMPD Wellness Center,” Louisville Metro Police Major Bryan Edelen said. “This multi-faceted approach to officer well-being will produce healthier outcomes for officers’ minds and bodies. Healthier officers can only help create healthier neighborhoods.”
ProTeam is dedicated to taking a holistic approach to tactical professional care to enhance both their physical and mental well-being. Along with offering comprehensive, industry-leading injury rehabilitation and performance solutions, LMPD will also offer ProTeam Tactical’s behavioral health platform, SHIELD®.
SHIELD® provides departments a way to proactively monitor and manage behavioral health with several certified, confidential assessments they can utilize to better evaluate their first responders’ depression, anxiety, PTSD, substance abuse, stress and sleep quality symptoms. This is all done through an easy-to-use, HIPAA-compliant app. Individuals can self-appraise themselves, journal, find resources and seek support through a private login. Local departments can use the system and aggregated data to track trends and provide timely access to the right resources and professional support their men and women need. ProTeam Tactical Performance is excited to offer SHIELD® with its other solutions to help enhance both the physical and mental well-being of local tactical professionals.
